Learning outcomes:

Candidates will be able to:

  • use plastic materials and check their suitability: is familiar with trade names, specifications and basic chemical, processing and physical properties of basic plastic materials
  • prepare material in advance and identify independently the key parameter values for processing using the injection moulding procedure, and explain process parameters and protocols;
  • understand the basics of the design and assembly of injection moulding tools;
  • identify the injection moulding technology for a particular material or product;
  • mount, assemble, disassemble and dismount injection moulding tools independently;
  • set peripheral devices (material dryers, mills, manipulators, process control, temperature control devices) and injection moulding machines
  • supervise a selected production process of injection moulding, carry out the basic optimisation of the process and eliminate the most obvious product defects pursuant to the prescribed protocol;
  • put forth options for technological improvements of a process, tools or installation;
  • manage controllers and process parameter settings on a machine

Assesment and completion:

Verification of the attainment of the learning outcomes identified in the qualification standard will be carried out in several ways:

  • Written assignments
  • Practical examination
  • Oral defence
