  • A completed first-cycle study programme from the field of geography totalling at least 180 credits; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme totalling at least 180 ECTS credits in another social science, humanities or natural science field, if prior to enrolment the candidate completes course units essential for further study in a second-cycle, two-subject teacher training programme in the field of geography; these requirements comprise up to 15 ECTS credits which candidates obtain by passing differential examinations; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme from the fields of social science, humanities or natural science adopted before 11 June 2004, if prior to enrolment the candidate completes course units essential for further study in a second-cycle, two-subject teacher training programme in the field of geography; these course units consist of up to 30 ECTS credits and candidates obtain them by sitting differential examinations.

  • predict new education needs associated with the teaching of geography and implement new solutions to satisfy those needs,
  • plan, implement and evaluate the teaching of geography in practice through class observations and appearances, and in the education process.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

To progress to the second year, students must complete at least 22 ECTS credits from a second-cycle, two-subject teacher training programme in the field of geography during the first year and a specific number of ECTS credits prescribed by the other part of the two-subject study programme.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

Conditions for obtaining a public document:
Students complete a two-subject teacher training programme when they have completed all prescribed requirements in both parts of the two-subject study programme, presented and successfully defended their master’s thesis, and thus accumulated at least 120 ECTS credits (60 in one part and 60 in the other part of the two-subject study programme).
