The second-cycle master's study programme in Marital and Family Studies is open to anyone who has completed:

  • a university study programme (adopted before 11 June 2004) or a first-cycle study program (or equivalent education under the Higher Education Act) in the relevant professional fields (humanities, pedagogy, social, health and social sciences). In the event that someone has completed a first-cycle study programme with 240 ECTS or a university study programme (adopted before 11 June 2004) with a scope comparable to 240 ECTS, up to 60 ECTS may be recognized.
  • university study programme (adopted before 11 June 2004) or first-cycle study programme (or equivalent education under the Higher Education Act) of other professional fields, if the candidate has completed additional study obligations in the field of psychology, philosophy and theology, which, depending on the diversity of the professional field, is determined by the competent study commission in the range of 10 to 60 ECTS.

In accordance with Article 121 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana, the conditions for enrollment are also met by those who have completed equivalent education abroad.

    • Ability to judge and interpret the results of psychological testing according to the psychometric characteristics of assessment instruments, individual, systemic and contextual characteristics of clients and the characteristics of the process of diagnosis and assessment.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to progress from the first to the second year of the second-cycle master's study programme, students must complete all obligations prescribed by the syllabus and individual curricula for the first year, except for obligations in the amount of 6 ECTS, i.e. in the total amount of at least 54 ECTS.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

To complete the study programme, students must complete all study obligations, as determined by the study programme and curricula of individual subjects, in the total amount of 120 ECTS.
