  • demonstrate knowledge of connections and influences between clothes, costumes, literature, drama and staging,
  • demonstrate knowledge of different practices in theatre, film, etc. and directorial procedures,
  • demonstrate knowledge of styles of dress and behaviour in connection with political, social and technological factors in different historical periods and geographical areas,
  • demonstrate understanding of the connection between clothes and costumes and material culture in the broader sense and fine art in the narrower sense,
  • seek, apply and transform various historical and contemporary sources and models into costume design solutions,
  • design and develop creative ideas,
  • transform outline concepts into artistic language,
  • demonstrate understanding of the psychophysical structure of the costume,
  • take into account and understand the connection between costume, the personality of the actor and the creation of a dramatic figure,
  • demonstrate understanding of the function of the individual costume and of the overall appearance of costumes in relation to the concept of the staging, dramaturgy, set design, lighting, music, etc.,
  • collaborate creatively with the creators of the project (director, actors, set design, lighting designer, dramaturge, etc.),

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may progress to the next higher year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all requirements defined by the study programme for progression to the next year.
