Admission requirements Entry conditions:
  • who has completed a first-cycle study programme in any field of study and has collected 240 ECTS can enter the second-cycle programme without additional conditions.
  • who has completed a first-cycle study programme in any field of study where he or she has collected 180 ECTS must complete 60 ECTS courses within the FDV before enrolling in the second-cycle study programme at the Faculty of Social Sciences with a choice of subjects agreed with the programme administrator.
  • who has completed a 4-year professional higher study programme according to a programme that could be enrolled before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed by 2015/2016 in any professional field at the latest can enter the 2nd level program without additional conditions.
  • who has completed a 3-year higher professional study under a programme that could be enrolled before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed by 2015/2016 at the latest may enter the master's programme under the conditions set out in point 2.

The conditions for enrollment are also met by candidates who have completed equivalent education abroad and enroll under the same conditions as apply to candidates who have completed their education in Slovenia. Before enrolling in postgraduate studies, candidates must complete the process of recognition of education for the purpose of continuing postgraduate studies.

Subject-specific competences:

  • students are trained to use theoretical political science approaches in the field of studying European integration processes and develop the ability to critically assess the selection of relevant approaches in the study of very diverse political and specific public policy phenomena and processes;
  • develop knowledge and skills for the analysis of political phenomena, analysis and evaluation of existing policies, for the formulation of public policy recommendations and their communication;
  • in their studies, they acquire the ability to think critically about ethical dilemmas in research on public policies, especially in research for the needs of political decision-making processes;
  • development of social science methodological knowledge, which also trains to an important extent for international comparative research - students gain a dynamic insight into the development of Slovenian public administration and the European Community

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Conditions for obtaining a public document:
