  • Secondary technical education in the field of computing, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or mechatronics and at least six months' work experience with the holder of a licence to provide technical security systems; or
  • secondary vocational education in the field of computing, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or mechatronics and four years' work experience in these fields and at least six months' work experience with a holder of a licence to provide technical security systems.
  • Completed professional training as a security technician in accordance with the law governing private security.

Learning outcomes:

Candidates will be able to:

  • plan, prepare and check own work
  • develop entrepreneurial characteristics, skills and behaviour

  • study technical documentation and the requirements of the client and prepare a proposal of technical solutions for technical security systems along with a timetable for implementation
  • assemble, configure, install and set up a technical security system
  • carry out work in accordance with standards and regulations
  • communicate verbally and in writing with contracting entities, professional contractors and other competent authorities
  • work in accordance with regulations on health and safety at work, fire safety and environmental safety

Evaluator:

Verification and assessment are carried out by committees for the verification and validation of national vocational qualifications, appointed by the National Examination Centre (NEC). Committee members must be licensed by the National Examination Centre. Licences may be found here.

Assesment and completion:

VALIDATION

During the counselling process, the candidate prepares a portfolio. The relevant committee assesses the portfolio and validates catalogue content in part or full. If the committee is unable to recognise all catalogue content, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification.

VERIFICATION METHOD

Verification takes place in writing (60 minutes) and through a practical test with oral presentation.
