  • a first-cycle (Bologna) study programme in other professional fields (social sciences, humanities, social work, environmental protection, security), if before enrolment in the study programme the student has completed study requirements essential for the continuation of studies totalling 30 ECTS credits from the field of nursing care from an undergraduate study programme or
  • a study programme leading to higher professional qualification, adopted before 11 June 2004, in the field of health sciences, comprising 180 ECTS credits or
  • a study programme leading to a higher professional qualification adopted before 11 June 2004 in other professional fields (social sciences, humanities, social work, environmental protection, security), if before enrolment in the study programme the student has completed study requirements essential for the continuation of studies totalling 30 ECTS credits from the field of nursing care from an undergraduate study programme.

Learning outcomes:

The qualification holder will be able to:

  • demonstrate ethical reflection and commitment to professional ethics,
  • incorporate organisational knowledge in support of successful business decisions,
  • plan and supervise the implementation of care activities,
  • apply scientific research methods to research in the field of nursing care,
  • study modern theories that define the nature of knowledge in the theoretical and practical fields of nursing and discuss their relevance and application in clinical practice,
  • consider the content and application of models of nursing care and study concepts connected to the art and science of nursing care,
  • describe the principles and application of research in nursing care and critically assess research literature with regard to an individual aspect of clinical practice in nursing care,
  • study concepts connected to the theory and practice of management and consider the application of management theory in nursing care, healthcare and social care,
  • study principles and methods in order to improve quality and consider the application of these principles in nursing care, healthcare and social care,
  • study the nature of changes and application of the theory of changes in nursing care, healthcare and social care,
  • study epistemology and ontology and relate the study of philosophy to knowledge and practice in nursing care,
  • study the ethical dimension of human behaviour and consider the application of moral theories in the theoretical and practical fields of nursing care,
  • discuss the main principles of behavioural, cognitive and humanist theories of learning and discuss the application of these theories in teaching, verification and assessment of knowledge,
  • study modern issues in professional practice and consider their importance and application in the practice of nursing care.

 

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
 

Progress:

Students progress to the second year if they have met first-year requirements and accumulated at least 40 ECTS credits.
