  • a completed first-cycle study programme in another, related field, if prior to enrolment the candidate has completed course units essential for further studies, totalling up to 60 credits; related fields are: social work, education science and adult education, social pedagogy, special and rehabilitation pedagogy, visually impaired education and specific learning difficulties education, biopsychology; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme in another field; candidates may apply for enrolment in the second-cycle psychology programme if their programme included at least 50 credits of content related to the content of the first-cycle Psychology programme (University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts) and if prior to enrolment they complete course units essential for further study totalling 10 to 60 credits.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to progress to a higher year, students must complete course units totalling 90% of the credits prescribed by the curriculum for the individual year (i.e. 54 out of 60 credits).

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and subject syllabuses, for a total of 120 credits. Students are also expected to successfully complete a work placement and write and successfully defend a master's thesis.
