Admission requirements Entry conditions:
  • A completed first-cycle study programme consisting of at least 180 credits in the field of Slovene language and literature; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme consisting of at least 180 ECTS credits from any humanities or social sciences field, if prior to enrolment the candidate has completed the course units that are essential for further study. These course units consist of 24 ECTS credits, which candidates may obtain during first-cycle studies or by sitting differential examinations.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Progress:

In order to progress to a higher year, students must complete 27 ECTS credits, including all compulsory subjects laid down by the study programme Slovene Language and Literature and a specific number of credits envisaged by the other part of the two-subject study programme. Students must complete the following course units: Pedagogy, Didactics, Psychology of learning and development of the adolescent, Working with children with special needs, Interdisciplinary observation placement, Didactics of Slovene language and literature 1, Didactics of Slovene language and literature 2, Literary programme and aesthetic concepts in Slovene literature, Teaching practicum 1, Slovene language and literature 1, The school essay.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students complete a two-subject study programme when they have completed all prescribed requirements in both parts of the two-subject study programme and presented and successfully defended a master's thesis and passed a master's examination, thereby accumulating at least 120 ECTS credits (60 in one part and 60 in the other part of the two-subject study programme).
