Admission requirements Entry conditions:
  • A completed first-cycle study programme in a relevant previous field of study – art education at the Faculty of Education and the Academy of Art with education science and adult education (first indent of Article 38a of the ZVis), consisting of 240 credits, adopted under legal provisions in force from 2004 onwards, which falls into the area of ISCED 14 (Teacher training and education science), art education programme. These candidates complete the basic study programme consisting of 60 ECTS credit (one year of full-time study); or
  • a completed first-cycle academic higher education programme in a relevant previous field of study (first indent of Article 38a of the ZVis), consisting of 180 credits; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme consisting of 240 credits in another field (second indent of Article 38a of the ZVis), if prior to enrolment the candidate completes course units essential for further study and demonstrates previously acquired knowledge and competences in the subjects covered by basic studies in education science; candidates must demonstrate their artistic knowledge and competences in a test of artistic ability and with their own works of art, which are assessed according to set criteria by a commission of the Art Education Department; or
  • a completed first-cycle academic higher education programme consisting of 180 credits in another field (second indent of Article 38a of the ZVis), if prior to enrolment the candidate demonstrates his/her artistic knowledge and competences in a test of artistic ability and with his/her own works of art, which are assessed according to set criteria by a commission of the Art Education Department, and completes course units essential for further study; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme consisting of 180 credits, adopted on the basis of legal provisions in force from 2004 onwards, which falls into the field of ISCED 14 (Teacher training and education science), if the candidate demonstrates his/her artistic knowledge and competences in a test of artistic ability and with his/her own works of art, which are assessed according to set criteria by a commission of the Art Education Department, and completes course units essential for further study totalling 60 credits, which the candidate completes as an additional year; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme under the old programme consisting of 180 credits in another field, if prior to enrolment the candidate demonstrates his/her artistic knowledge and competences in a test of artistic ability and with his/her own works of art, which are assessed according to set criteria by a commission of the Art Education Department, and completes course units essential for further study.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Progress:
For candidates taking the programme as a full-time course consisting of the basic 60 credits, there are no conditions for progression (course lasts one year). For candidates taking the programme as a part-time course, conditions for progression are determined by taking into account the overall requirements (all envisaged credits) defined for an individual year of study (a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 45 ECTS credits).
