  • a completed first-cycle study programme in a relevant field (art education or a study programme in the field of the fine arts) consisting of 180 credits; prior to enrolment in this programme, candidates must complete a foundation year; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme in another field, consisting of 240 ECTS credits, if prior to enrolment the candidate has passed a test of artistic ability and completed any course units of the foundation year not already completed; or
  • a completed first-cycle study programme in another field, consisting of 180 ECTS credits, if prior to enrolment the candidate has passed a test of artistic ability and a foundation year; or
  • a completed academic higher education programme in a relevant field (art education) adopted before 11 June 2004 or a study programme in the field of fine arts and a programme leading to a teaching/adult education qualification consisting of 240 ECTS credits; or
  • a completed academic higher education programme in another field, consisting of 240 ECTS credits, adopted before 11 June 2004, if prior to enrolment the candidate has passed a test of artistic ability and completed any course units of the foundation year not already completed; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme, adopted before 11 June 2004, in a relevant field (art education or a study programme in the field of the fine arts) consisting of 180 credits; prior to enrolment in this programme, candidates must complete a foundation year; or

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
