- conduct research work during and after studies,
- develop awareness of own knowledge and abilities in monitoring own study path,
- guide, monitor and lead a class,
- demonstrate linguistic and pedagogical knowledge through the study of theoretical and methodological concepts of Italian as a foreign and second language, Italian literature in the mother country and world and intercultural linguistic communication,
- know the fundamental areas of pedagogical work and disciplines,
- teach Italian at the early stage of education in elementary schools, secondary schools or in adult education.
Students may enrol in a higher year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all requirements defined by the study programme for enrolment in a higher year.
Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
