  • A completed first-cycle programme within the same stream of the Music programme at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana or an identical or similar first-cycle study programme at another higher education institution; or
  • any completed Bologna first-cycle study programme and completion of any course units from the first-cycle study programme in Music not already completed.
Candidates will also be required to pass an entrance examination consisting of the examination material for the final year of the main subject in the first-cycle music programme in the relevant stream.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress to the second year, students must complete all compulsory subjects and course units, for a total of 60 credits.
