General competences:
- comprehensive critical thinking, ability to analyze, synthesize and anticipate solutions in the field of health, medical, educational, business, administrative, organizational, legal and other sciences (interdisciplinarity),
- ability to independently develop new knowledge and solve the most demanding scientific and professional problems,
- knowledge and application of research methodology (methods, procedures, processes and technology),
- ability to creatively use knowledge in a professional environment, the ability to identify problems and find solutions,
- knowledge and understanding of processes in the clinical environment and ability to analyze, synthesize and predict solutions or consequences,
- ability to identify needs for change and innovate,
- leading and participating in critical dialogues,
- autonomy and responsibility in decision-making,
- commitment to professional ethics,
- ability to develop a culture of non-discrimination and respect for intercultural differences,
- ability to present the acquired knowledge and research findings at domestic and foreign scientific conferences and in the international research environment,
- awareness of the need for self-improvement, supplementation, deepening and updating of knowledge.
Subject-specific competences:
- thorough knowledge and understanding of the development of health sciences and nursing,
- in-depth knowledge of theories, paradigms, concepts and models of education in health care (philosophical, sociological, psychological, pedagogical and anthropological aspects),
- understanding and application of modern didactic concepts,
- ability to solve problems using scientific methods and procedures,
- in-depth knowledge in the field of healthcare, nursing, business and educational sciences and their interdisciplinary integration and application,
- ability for strategic management, administration and development of the most demanding work systems according to modern organizational and economic principles,
- superior understanding and mastery of various research approaches in the scientific field,
- ability to evaluate the quality of work and achievements,
- ability to identify the impacts of technological development on the environment,
- thorough knowledge and ability to use the most modern quantitative and qualitative research methods,
- ability to independently plan and carry out research work, analyze and interpret data, formulate and substantiate opinions, positions and proposals, and prepare a research report,
- ability to actively participate in scientific conferences, research workshops, doctoral and scientific seminars in the field of health,
- thorough knowledge of standards and criteria for writing professional and scientific articles, papers, research reports, monographs, etc.,
- ability for independent planning of one's own professional career and the career of employees in business and professional or scientific environment,
- criticality regarding the broadest implications of the use of knowledge in concrete educational and professional environments,
- acting in accordance with values and value systems and professional-ethical principles.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Progression from the first to the second year:
- obtained at least 30 ECTS,
- publicly presented and positively evaluated draft of the doctoral dissertation.
Progression from the second to the third year:
- obtained at least 60 ECTS,
- obtained the consent of the faculty to the topic of the doctoral dissertation.
Conditions for admission to the defense of the doctoral dissertation:
- completed all study obligations prescribed by the programme and
- publication of at least one article from the content of the dissertation in an appropriate publication recognized by the faculty.

The condition for the completion of studies is the successful completion of all study obligations prescribed by the programme in the amount of 180 ECTS.
