  • At least one year of independent work in the field of design and production of components in the animation of motion pictures (art design of characters/objects/backgrounds; storyboard; design and production of characters, backgrounds, objects, scenography, lighting; post-production of image and sound...), which the candidate proves with authentic documents (reference letters and/or reports on the work performed with the signature of the responsible person and/or contract and/or proof of student work, an indication in the check-out list, etc.), which show the time and content of the work performed.

Verification and assessment are carried out by committees for the verification and validation of national vocational qualifications, appointed by the National Examination Centre (NEC). Committee members must be licensed by the National Examination Centre. Licences may be found here.

Assesment and completion:

VALIDATION

During the guidance process the candidate prepares a portfolio,  which is assessed by a committee. If the portfolio submitted by the candidate contains  authentic, valid and adequate proof of the knowledge,  skills and competences defined in the occupational standard, the committee may:

  • validate the contents of the occupational standard in full,  
  • validate the contents of the occupational standard in part and define the  knowledge, skills and competence to be verified,  
  • refuse to validate any of the contents of the occupational standard because  the candidate has not provided proof of any of the knowledge, skills and competences  defined in the occupational standard, in which case it will verify  the occupational standard in full. 
     

VERIFICATION METHOD  

Practical assessment with oral defense.

Before direct verification, the candidate prepares and submits the product (animation of moving images) with the attached documentation to the committee via an active connection or on an external disk/USB key:

  • product: animation of motion pictures for the selected type of animation, which contains the components designed and produced by the candidate, necessary for the selected type of animation of motion pictures (art design of characters/objects/backgrounds, storyboard, design and production of characters, backgrounds, objects, scenography, lighting, image and sound post-production). Animation of motion pictures with attached statement/evidence/reference/statement in check-out tip, etc. to prove co-authorship of the product, it should not be older than four years.
  • Documentation: the process of designing and producing the building blocks required for a chosen type of motion picture animation, which includes:
    • substantive description of the process of design and production of the components necessary for the selected type of animation of motion pictures and
    • technical implementation of the design and production of the components necessary for the selected type of animation of motion pictures: sketch of the artistic design of characters/objects/backgrounds;
    • plotting a story outline; plan for drawing and designing characters, backgrounds, objects and scenography; instructions for designing and making characters (skeleton construction), backgrounds, objects and scenography; instructions for digital or analog lighting; instructions for the design and graphic image and the equipment of motion pictures (starting and exiting spica, telop...); instructions for the process of optimizing work processes; instructions for creating image and sound post-production; graphic breakdown of the documentation (signatures to photographs, tables, graphs...) with references to literature, use of professional terminology, compliance with the norms of the Slovenian language, etc.

The candidate can attach the product(s) to a personal collection folder (in the counseling process).

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Candidates demonstrate attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

Awarding body:

Providers of procedures for identifying and validating national vocational qualifications are entered in a register of providers maintained in the relevant collection of the National Reference Point for Occupational Qualifications. Providers include: vocational schools, companies, inter-company training centres, adult education centres, chambers of commerce, etc.
