The qualification holder will be able to:

- think critically, analyse, synthesise and anticipate solutions in the fields of nursing care, education, social sciences, humanities, organisational science, natural sciences, mathematics and other disciplines (interdisciplinarity),
- demonstrate mastery of research methods, procedures, processes and technology,
- creatively apply knowledge in the professional/business environment,
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of processes in the professional/business environment and analyse, synthesise and anticipate their solutions or consequences,
- undertake pedagogical work with an emphasis on care for physical and mental health,
- recognise needs to change and introduce innovations into the professional environment,
- demonstrate autonomy in decision-making and responsibility for decisions taken,
- communicate in the domestic and international environments,
- demonstrate commitment to professional ethics,
- develop a culture of non-discrimination and respect for intercultural differences,
- present acquired knowledge and research findings,
- demonstrate awareness of the importance of advancing, supplementing, enhancing and updating own knowledge,

- study modern theories that define the nature of knowledge in the theoretical and practical fields of nursing care and educational science,
- study modern issues in professional practice and consider their importance and application in the professional environment,
- study the nature of changes and application of the theory of changes in nursing care, healthcare and social care,
- consider the content and application of models of education in the maintenance and promotion of health,
- study concepts connected to the theory and practice of educational science (pedagogy, didactics, adult education, social pedagogy, special pedagogy) and consider their application in nursing care, healthcare and social care,
- discuss the main principles of behavioural, cognitive and humanist theories of learning and apply findings in learning, teaching, verification and assessment of knowledge,
- describe the principles and application of research in the professional field (in nursing care, in the promotion of health) and critically assess research literature with regard to an individual aspect of clinical practice,
- study the ethical dimension of human behaviour and consider the application of moral theories in the theoretical and practical spheres,
- study principles and methods in order to improve quality and consider the application of these principles in nursing care, healthcare and social care,

- apply knowledge in the field of the methodology of healthcare research in an interdisciplinary manner,
- select and employ appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods and interpret the results obtained in a complementary manner,
- critically evaluate the results of qualitative and quantitative research,
- elaborate and present results obtained individually or as a team,
- carry out universal and systematic adaptation of the treatment of a patient with regard to relevant physical, mental, social, cultural, psychological, spiritual and social factors,
- actively promote health, assess risk and ensure safety,
- recognise the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of different concepts of healthcare systems,
- understand and apply epidemiological knowledge in the identification of the characteristics of infectious diseases and demonstrate mastery of problems that are important for public health,
- protect the patient's dignity and privacy and the confidentiality of data,
- understand basic didactic concepts and applied flexibly,
- use didactic knowledge creatively in a concrete pedagogical process, apply modern education and learning procedures in the promotion of health,
- develop own professional image and teaching style,
- ensure high-quality communication in a multi-professional nursing/healthcare team, develop and maintain good mutual relations between staff, patients, patients' families, groups, the community,
- demonstrate knowledge and understanding of business processes in healthcare and analyse, synthesise and anticipate their solutions or consequences,
- plan, organise and analyse healthcare services,
- collect, process and analyses a wide variety of data and write reports that are the basis for decisions in the addressing of complex problems or improving the quality of work and business,
- verify and assess the achievements of employees and provide feedback,
- plan human resources needs and employee career development,
- implement information systems and information technology in health care and nursing, understand the importance of the role of nurse managers in the development of nursing care information systems and apply the theory of development of nursing care information systems in practice.
Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Conditions for progression to the second year are not envisaged.
