  • A first-cycle (bachelor's) degree in interlingual mediation in a stream that is relevant to the desired stream of the master's programme (the languages selected in the master's programme must correspond to the languages selected in the undergraduate programme); candidates must pass a test of interpreting skills before enrolling in the programme; or
  • a first-cycle degree in another field: candidates must sit an examination to test their linguistic competences in Slovene and two foreign languages (depending on the desired stream) and a test of interpreting skills; depending on the competences acquired in the undergraduate programme and the results of the examination, additional course units ranging from 10 to 60 credits may be prescribed; or
  • a completed professional higher education programme under the old programme in another field: these candidates must sit an examination to test their linguistic competences in Slovene and two foreign languages (depending on the desired stream) and a test of interpreting skills; depending on the competences acquired in the undergraduate programme and the results of the examination, additional course units ranging from 10 to 60 credits may be prescribed.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress from the first year to the second year of the second-cycle joint master's programme, students must have completed first-year course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses totalling 90% of the total credits prescribed, i.e. 54 credits.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete their studies, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and the syllabuses of the subjects prescribed in the chosen stream, for a total of 120 credits. Students must write and defend a master's thesis in the context of a master's seminar and pass a master's examination, as specified by the curriculum.
