  • Anyone who has completed a first-cycle study programme in any professional field and has collected 240 ECTS can enter the second-cycle programme without additional conditions.
  • Anyone who has completed a first-cycle study programme in any field of study where he or she has collected 180 ECTS must enroll in 60 ECTS courses within the second level at the Faculty of Social Sciences within the Programme for Fulfilling Social Science with a choice of subjects agreed with the program administrator.
  • Anyone who has completed a 4-year professional higher study programme according to a programme that could be enrolled before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed by 2015/2016 in any professional field at the latest can enter the second level programme without additional conditions.
  • Anyone who has completed a 3-year professional higher study under a programme that could be enrolled before the introduction of the Bologna reform and completed by 2015/2016 at the latest may enter the master's programme under the conditions set out in point 2.

The conditions for enrollment are also met by candidates who have completed equivalent education abroad and enroll under the same conditions as apply to candidates who have completed their education in Slovenia. Before enrolling in postgraduate studies, candidates must complete the process of recognition of education for the purpose of continuing postgraduate studies.

General competences:

The second level graduate is qualified to solve the most demanding political science problems and to continue the third level study of political theory. He also acquires the ability to work in a group, upgrades his knowledge of foreign languages, and establishes contacts outside and inside Slovenia. The study encourages his creativity, initiative and creativity, and strengthens his leadership skills.

Subject-specific competences:

The graduate gets an in-depth insight into political theories and doctrines, relevant methodological knowledge in the field of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, for research of political science phenomena and acquires theoretical knowledge for their analysis. Subject-specific competences are related to the composition of the syllabus and are defined in the curricula of individual subjects.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
