Subject-specific competences acquired through the programme:
- ability to read, interpret, comment and critically evaluate basic philosophical texts,
- ability to evaluate the philosophical scope of texts and epistemologize knowledge,
- in-depth mastery of the conceptual apparatus of various philosophies and the ability of comparative analysis and critical evaluation,
- ability to think critically in the field of history of philosophy and in dealing with philosophical problems,
- ability to think critically in the field of modern philosophies and comparative analysis and reflection in this field,
- the ability to assess European and world intellectual heritage,
- ability to use research methodology in the field of philosophy,
- ability to critically assess contemporary ethical and bioethical dilemmas,
- understanding and applying the basic principles of scientific research ethics,
- ability to actively deal with fashion trends and ideological, etc. pressures in the field of philosophy and humanities and the ability to critically evaluate and argue,
- ability to form a competent attitude towards the natural and cultural environment,
- ability to create an original professional and scientific contribution in the field of philosophy as a scientific discipline,
- the ability to form an enlightened and cosmopolitan view of the world.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
To progress to a higher year, students must complete study obligations to the extent that they achieves 90% of the ECTS prescribed by the syllabus (54 out of 60 ECTS) for an individual year.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
To complete the study, the student must complete the study obligations prescribed by the syllabus and individual curricula, in the total amount of 120 ECTS. In the last year of study, the student prepares an appropriate master's thesis (30 ECTS), which he must successfully defend.
