Learning outcomes:

The certificate holder is qualified to:

  • use of hand tools, machines and devices for processing, transforming and joining thin sheets;
  • design and manufacture of various sheet metal products and correct and safe installation of elements;
  • the use or choice of forms, materials, covering techniques and elements of roof constructions and coverings made of natural or artificial materials;
  • execution of roof details and covering of roofs with various coverings;
  • use of technology and technological procedures for the production, assembly, protection and maintenance of constructions and construction elements;
  • selection and implementation of the technological procedure of processing, transforming or joining materials depending on the material and purpose of use;
  • implementation of basic methods of cutting, mechanical processing of materials and anti-corrosion protection procedures;
  • preparation of welding edges and cleaning of the welding surface according to the requirements of welding procedures and visual and measurement control of welds;
  • use of technical and technological documentation, technical regulations and standards as well as technical plans and instructions of manufacturers;
  • use of measuring and control devices, tools and machines used in the construction and assembly of structures;
  • implementation and provision of measures for safety and health at work, environmental protection, fire safety and accident prevention;
  • positive attitude towards measures to reduce pollution and protect the environment;
  • judgment on the rational use of energy, use of energy sources and waste management;
  • cooperation in a group and written and oral communication with colleagues, experts and clients using basic professional terminology;
  • use of modern information technology, work with resources, data and materials;
  • entrepreneurial thinking, control of costs and calculations, and responsible and social behavior in the work environment.

Optional:

  • judgment on the use of special welding procedures;
  • assessment of the ecological justification of the use of individual machines, devices and welding processes;
  • implementation of basic procedures of flame welding of metallic and non-metallic materials;
  • selection of suitable burners, additional materials and setting of welding parameters;

The holder of the certificate has also upgraded key professional knowledge and abilities with key general knowledge in accordance with national standards.

Assesment and completion:

Students' vocational abilities and skills, and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using scores from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

Progress:

A student/apprentice who, at the end of the school year, is positively evaluated in all general education subjects and professional modules of the year of the school's implementation curriculum, and who has completed all the obligations of other forms of educational work (active citizenship and extracurricular activities) and practical training through work placement at the employer.

Progression:

Secondary technical, vocational or vocational-technical education; master craftsman/foreman/shop manager examination (SQF level 5).

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the education and obtain the qualification, the student/apprentice must successfully pass with positive grades:

  • general education subjects,
  • mandatory professional modules,
  • one of the optional professional modules,
  • open part of the open curriculum.

In addition, he/she must complete:

  • other forms of extracurricular activities (active citizenship and interest activities),
  • obligations in practical training  through work placement,
  • intermediate test (applies to apprentice form of education and students with an individual learning contract in the school form of education),
  • final exam.

The final exam includes:

  • written and oral examination of Slovenian language,
  • presenting and defending a service
