Learning outcomes:

Qualification holders are qualified to:

  • demonstrate mastery of basic knowledge in various fields of molecular biology and biotechnology such as: molecular immunology; processing, translating and transcribing RNA; replication, recombination and repair of DNA; proteomics; bacteriology; yeast genetics; molecular pathology; virology; structure of proteins and bioinformatics,
  • demonstrate mastery of applied knowledge (communication, information technology, data analysis),
  • demonstrate proficiency in research skills,
  • demonstrate familiarity with laboratory practice.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have met all requirements defined by the study programme for progression to the next year.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In other to complete the programme, students must accumulate 180 ECTS credits, as follows: 51 ECTS credits from compulsory subjects, 9 ECTS credits from elective subjects, 90 ECTS credits from research and 30 ECTS credits from the doctoral dissertation.
