The following candidates cab enroll in the doctoral study programme:

  • who has completed a second-cycle Bologna study programme in any field and has at least 5 years of work experience;
  • who has completed a scientific master's programme and has at least 5 years of work experience;
  • who has completed a pre-Bologna university study programme (equivalent to 300 ECTS) and has at least 5 years of work experience;
  • who has completed a pre-Bologna professional higher education programme with a specialization (equivalent to 300 ECTS). The candidate must have at least 5 years of work experience.

Additional enrollment requirements:

  • the candidate must be fluent (speak, understand and write) in English;
  • the candidate must submit 2 letters of recommendation upon enrollment;
  • the candidate must submit a motivation letter upon enrollment;
  • the candidate must submit a detailed curriculum vitae with business and professional references upon enrollment;
  • the candidate is invited to a personal interview after the application has been accepted.

Graduates are able to:

  • to study modern theories that define the nature of knowledge in the theoretical and practical field of management and leadership and to discuss their relevance and use in practice;
  • describe the principles and use of analytical methodologies in management and critically evaluate the literature;
  • to study the principles and methods for improving quality and to consider the application of these principles;
  • to study the ethical dimension of human behavior and to address moral aspects in the theoretical and practical field of leadership and management.

Subject-specific competences:

  • deepening of theoretical knowledge in extensive areas of strategic management and leadership;
  • deepening knowledge and skills related to research methodologies and techniques in the social sciences;
  • coherent mastery of basic knowledge in selected subject areas and the ability to connect them and apply them to specific research problems;
  • ability to prepare the most demanding research projects with application in practice;
  • ability to generate new knowledge based on the results of research work;
  • ability to conceptually form scientific thought and communicate effectively in a scientific and professional environment;
  • personality traits needed in international scientific research as well as in working with top managers;

  • personal willingness to act as an opinion leader and engage in concrete projects aimed at improving managerial practice.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

The conditions for progression between years are as follows:

Progression from first year to second year:

  • successful completion (minimum grade 6/10) of four compulsory courses (Quantitative Research Methods and Techniques in Social Sciences; Qualitative Research Methods and Techniques in Social Sciences; Qualitative Research Methods and Techniques in Social Sciences; Leadership ; Strategic Management)
  • participation in one research seminar
  • successful completion and defense of the topic of the doctoral dissertation

Transition from second year to third year:

  • satisfactory completion of two elective courses (minimum grade 6/10)
  • participation in two research seminars
  • submission of a professional article to a professional journal

In the third year until the end of studies:

  • participation in one research program
  • completion and defense of a doctoral dissertation

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

The candidate completes his / her studies after completing all the obligations prescribed by the study programme, preparing and successfully defending the research project, thus collecting 180 ECTS.
