- continue their education and master the skills that will be necessary for later success in their career and in life,
- demonstrate understanding of the basics of scientific models in various fields,
- acquire knowledge and experience of music, fine arts and other forms of art,
- develop their own view of the world,
- demonstrate familiarity with modern technologies and develop innovativeness,
- show development in all areas of the personality (balance of physical, cognitive, emotional, social, moral and aesthetic development) and development of the personality as a whole,
- develop their own artistic ability on the basis of tested, high-quality educational approaches,
- make decisions regarding further study on the basis of standards of preparation for the matura examination and interests,
- demonstrate mastery of fields of music relating to the creative, interpretive, historical and theoretical components of the art of music,
- acquire knowledge about dance and the physical capacities of the body and broader specialist theoretical knowledge with an emphasis on the development of individual qualities, in this way laying the foundations for the formation of an artist,
- continue their artistic development and education,
- demonstrate basic knowledge of fields of art relating to the creative, historical and theoretical components of the fine arts,
- demonstrate understanding of the roles, importance and purpose of drama and theatre, particularly Slovene drama and theatre, and their entertainment, cultural, educational, socialisation and national functions (formation of personal and national cultural identity and consciousness),
- demonstrate knowledge of the specifics, typology and means of expression of various dramatic texts and the possibilities of their theatrical concretisation; systematically develop abilities in creative and critical reading, watching, listening, vocal and physical expression, enactment and other forms of artistic expression,
- demonstrate knowledge of the main historical stages and theories of drama and theatre as cultural/aesthetic phenomena in various historical, sociological and aesthetic circumstances, and of different dramatic genres and different types of theatre (classical drama, puppet theatre, dance theatre, experimental theatre, etc.), theatrical constituents, conventions, codes, categories and partial theatrical systems,
- demonstrate mastery of basic dramatic, dramaturgical (dramatological, interpretive), theatrical (theatrological, acting-related), literary historical, musical and artistic knowledge, knowledge of movement and dance, knowledge of film theory and practice; develop special skills and the necessary mental and physical, vocal, emotional and aesthetic fitness required for systematic understanding of dramatic and theatrical works and own dramatic/theatrical creation and interpretation,
- demonstrate mastery of the basics of communication with dramatic and theatrical works and their creators, basic analytical procedures, the attribution of meaning to, comprehension of and evaluation of dramatic and theatrical works, and identification of the relationships between texts and theatrical, radio, television and film interpretations,
- develop personality characteristics, different intelligences (emotional, interpersonal and intrapersonal, linguistic, logico-mathematical, musical, physical and spatial), critical and aesthetic evaluation, justification and tolerance towards different understandings and evaluations.
Students must pass (obtain passing grades in) the matura examination.
