MUSIC: Particular musical talent, which is ascertained through a test of knowledge based on the music school programme

DANCE:

Module A: Ballet

  • Particular talent, which is ascertained through a test of knowledge in which candidates demonstrate knowledge of classical ballet and period dances covering four years of ballet school, knowledge of music theory covering three years under the music school programme and knowledge of an instrument covering two years of ballet school;
  • a medical certificate certifying the general state of health, anatomical characteristics (flexibility of joints and spine, openness of legs, shape of figure and legs, features of the feet), anthropometric measurements (proportionality of individual parts of the body).
          Module B: Modern dance:
  • A particular talent for dance, which is ascertained through a test of knowledge. This covers:
  • a dance exercise led by a dance teacher and aimed at assessing previous knowledge of dance technique;
  • presentation of a brief composition or choreography without musical accompaniment, prepared by the candidates themselves. Duration: up to 4 minutes. This tests interpretative ability;
  • a short improvisation prepared by candidates during the test according to the instructions of the committee. This ascertains the level of their own creativity;
  • a medical certificate confirming the general state of health or physical capacity.    

ART: A particular talent for art, which is ascertained through a test

THEATRE: No special conditions for enrolment are envisaged.

  • continue their education and master the skills that will be necessary for later success in their career and in life,

MUSIC
  • demonstrate mastery of fields of music relating to the creative, interpretive, historical and theoretical components of the art of music, 
DANCE
  • acquire knowledge about dance and the physical capacities of the body and broader specialist theoretical knowledge with an emphasis on the development of individual qualities, in this way laying the foundations for the formation of an artist, 
ART
  • continue their artistic development and education,
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of fields of art relating to the creative, historical and theoretical components of the fine arts, 
DRAMA AND THEATRE
  • demonstrate understanding of the roles, importance and purpose of drama and theatre, particularly Slovene drama and theatre, and their entertainment, cultural, educational, socialisation and national functions (formation of personal and national cultural identity and consciousness), 
  • demonstrate knowledge of the specifics, typology and means of expression of various dramatic texts and the possibilities of their theatrical concretisation; systematically develop abilities in creative and critical reading, watching, listening, vocal and physical expression, enactment and other forms of artistic expression, 
  • demonstrate knowledge of the main historical stages and theories of drama and theatre as cultural/aesthetic phenomena in various historical, sociological and aesthetic circumstances, and of different dramatic genres and different types of theatre (classical drama, puppet theatre, dance theatre, experimental theatre, etc.), theatrical constituents, conventions, codes, categories and partial theatrical systems,
  • demonstrate mastery of basic dramatic, dramaturgical (dramatological, interpretive), theatrical (theatrological, acting-related), literary historical, musical and artistic knowledge, knowledge of movement and dance, knowledge of film theory and practice; develop special skills and the necessary mental and physical, vocal, emotional and aesthetic fitness required for systematic understanding of dramatic and theatrical works and own dramatic/theatrical creation and interpretation, 
  • demonstrate mastery of the basics of communication with dramatic and theatrical works and their creators, basic analytical procedures, the attribution of meaning to, comprehension of and evaluation of dramatic and theatrical works, and identification of the relationships between texts and theatrical, radio, television and film interpretations,
  • develop personality characteristics, different intelligences (emotional, interpersonal and intrapersonal, linguistic, logico-mathematical, musical, physical and spatial), critical and aesthetic evaluation, justification and tolerance towards different understandings and evaluations. 

Students' vocational abilities and skills and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using grades from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

 

Students must pass (obtain passing grades in) the matura examination.
