Fulfilment of one of the following conditions:

  • the candidate has obtained a secondary vocational qualification (any stream) and has at least three years of professional experience,
  • the candidate has obtained a secondary technical qualification (any stream) and has at least two years of professional experience,
  • the candidate has obtained a higher vocational qualification or first-cycle professional higher education qualification (any stream) and has at least one year of professional experience.

Learning outcomes:

Holders of a master craftsman qualification will be able to:

  • organise and manage the work process,
  • assure quality for products and services,
  • prepare a business plan and analyse the results of work,
  • receive customers and provide advice,
  • manage the purchase and sale of products or services
  • operate a business rationally and economically (staff, standards and calculation of services),
  • draft proposals for the rewarding of co-workers and work to ensure a positive working environment,
  • take on workers and plan their development,
  • implement environmental regulations and regulations on safety at work, fire safety and environmental protection,
  • transfer knowledge, skills, experience and new developments in the profession to apprentices, students and co-workers,
  • participate in continuous learning and keep abreast of technological development in the profession,
  • plan and carry out ceramic work to the standard of a master craftsman,
  • demonstrate knowledge of all types of materials, underlying surfaces and technical requirements,
  • fit ceramic tiles to indoor and outdoor pavements, walls and columns,
  • fit ceramic tiles to indoor and outdoor steps,
  • fit acid-resistant ceramic linings,
  • fit surfaces that will be subjected to greater burdens,
  • fit ceramic tiles to indoor and outdoor pools,
  • realise terminations and expansion gaps of all types,
  • repair and maintain all types of ceramic linings,
  • prepare instructions for cleaning and maintaining ceramic linings,
  • cooperate with the planner in connection with diagrams, laying plans and implementation of works,
  • provide advice to clients.

Evaluator:

Members of examination boards for each examination unit separately. Appointed by the minister responsible for education. Appointment may be renewed every 4 years.

Assesment and completion:

Candidates sit a master craftsman examination, which consists of four units:

  • a practical unit,
  • a technical and theoretical part,
  • a business and economics part,
  • an education part.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Candidates must pass all four units of the master craftsman examination to receive the title of master craftsman.
