The conditions for enrollment are harmonized with the Statute of the University of Ljubljana, which stipulates in Article 117 that anyone who has completed the following may enroll in the master's program:

  • a first-cycle study programme in the relevant professional field, which is defined by a master's study programme;
  • a first-cycle study programme from another professional field, if before enrollment the candidate has completed study obligations in the range of 10 to 60 credit points, which are essential for the continuation of studies and are defined by the study programme.

The candidate may complete the obligations referred to in the second indent of the previous paragraph during the study at the first-cycle, in further training programmes or by taking differential examinations before enrollment in the master's study programme.

The following can be enrolled in the master's study of publishing:

  • candidates with a degree in Librarianship and Informatics
  • candidates with a first-cycle study at any other faculty or university, either from undergraduate programmes created in accordance with the Bologna guidelines, or from those created before the reform of higher education, but have to take differential subjects / exams. These are listed in the table below. The number of obligations is determined by the Senate of the Faculty of Arts on the proposal of the Council of the Department for each individual candidate separately, according to the candidate's previously acquired knowledge. In doing so, he also takes into account his professional and work experience and not only the knowledge achieved through formal education.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to progress to the second year of postgraduate studies, students must complete the obligations prescribed by the syllabus and curricula for the first year, in the total amount of 60 ECTS. The condition for repeating the year is that the student achieves at least 20 credits. Advice on electives, seminar assignments, etc. is conducted through consultations during speaking hours or by e-mail. Each year has its own mentor. The conditions for the extension of the student status will be in accordance with the UL acts.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

To complete the second-cycle study, the candidate must complete all the obligations set out in the study programme and subject curricula prescribed in the chosen field, in the total amount of 120 ECTS. Students must prepare and defend a master's thesis (30KT). The study ends with a successful public defense of a positively assessed master's thesis in front of at least a three-member commission, in which the mentor is one of the members.
