Enrollment in the Pedagogics second level study programme is open to anyone who has completed: 

  • A first level study programme in relevant professional fields: teacher training and educational sciences (14). 
  • A first level study programme in other professional fields: ¬¬ Humanities (22) and the social sciences (31), if they have completed their study obligations before enrolling in the study programme, essential for continuing the study to the extent of 23 ECTS that the candidate can complete during their studies at the first level, in further training programmes by passing differential exams before enrolling in the study programme. Candidates must complete the following course units: Pedagogical methodology Research (7 ECTS credits), Introduction to Pedagogy (4 ECTS credits), History of Pedagogy (6 ECTS credits), Fundamentals didactics (6 ECTS credits).
  • A first level study programme in other professional fields: ¬¬ natural sciences (40), if they have completed their study obligations before enrolling in the study programme, essential for continuing the study to the extent of 35 ECTS that the candidate can take during their first level study, in further training programmes. by passing differential exams before enrolling in the study programme. Candidates must complete the following course units: Methodology of Educational Research (7 ECTS), Introduction to Pedagogy (4 ECTS), History of Pedagogy (6 ECTS), Fundamentals of Didactics (6 ECTS), Developmental Psychology (6 ECTS), Special Education (6 ECTS) ).
  • Professional higher education study programme adopted before 11 June 2004 in the relevant professional fields: teacher training and educational sciences  (14).
  • Professional higher education study programme adopted before 11 June 2004, in other professional fields: humanities (22) and social sciences (31) if they have completed their study obligations before enrolling in the study programme, essential for continuing the study to the extent of 23 ECTS that the candidate can complete during their studies at the first level, in further training programmes by passing differential exams before enrolling in the study programme.   • Academic higher study programme, adopted before 11 June 2004, in relevant professional fields: pedagogy (1421), andragogy (1422). Up to 60 ECTS credits may awarded to such a candidate within the study programme and may be enrolled in the second year of study if they fulfill the conditions for transition determined by the accredited study programme with recognized obligations.
  • Academic higher study programme, adopted before 11 June 2004, in other professional fields: humanities (22), social sciences (31) and natural sciences (40). Such a candidate shall be awarded with 10-30 ECTS credits within the study programme and may be enrolled accordingly in the relevant study year.
  • Professional higher education study programme adopted before 11 June 2004 and a study programme for specialization following professional higher education  adopted before 11 June 2004 in the relevant professional fields: teacher training and educational sciences (14). As a rule 60 ECTS are awarded to such candidates within the study programme and candidates may enrol in the second year of the programme if with their recognized course units they meet the transition conditions laid down by the accredited study programme.
  • Professional higher education study programme adopted before 11 June 2004 and a study programme for specialization following professional higher education 11 June 2004 in other professional fields: humanities (22), social sciences (31) and natural sciences (40) . Such a candidate is awarded with 10-30 ECTS within the study programme and is accordingly enrolled in the relevant study year.

  • in-depth knowledge of didactic, pedagogical and pedagogical psychological theoretical concepts and the ability to put them into practice;
  • ability to plan, implement and evaluate pedagogical measures;
  • ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups;
  • mastering theoretical concepts and programmatic starting points for school counseling;
  • in-depth understanding and knowledge of working strategies with marginalized groups;
  • in-depth understanding and critical evaluation of the wider social and economic educational activity framework;
  • ability to participate in updating and developing school curricula; and involvement in R&D activities organized at school, local, national and internationally;
  • ability to use pedagogical theories to solve specific work problems.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

Students  must earn at least 48 ECTS credits in order to advance to the second year.
