  • A successfully passed special aptitude test consisting of an admission interview with a presentation of the candidate's work (portfolio) in the field of sculpture and the submission of a two-page written plan of work for the second cycle; and: 
  • a completed first-cycle study programme in painting, printmaking, new media, sculpture, fine arts; or 
  • a completed first-cycle study programme in another field; if necessary, before enrolling in the second-cycle study programme the candidate must complete course units essential for further study, as defined by the individual departmental committee (from 10 to a maximum 60 credits); or 
  • a completed professional higher education programme adopted before the 2004 ZViS, if prior to enrolment in the second-cycle programme the candidate completes course units essential for further study totalling 10 to 60 credits.

Learning outcomes:
The qualification holder will be able to: 
  • undertake independent creative and research-based activities in the field of sculpture and fine arts or visual arts in general,
  • develop artistic awareness and sensitivity, 
  • self-educate in own specialist field,
  • resolve problems through the use of new sources of information and the application of artistic research methods, 
  • position own activities and creative work in the artistic and social/historical environment,
  • generate ideas for the selection of the best technological solutions and the realisation of ideas, 
  • think conceptually and undertake self-reflection and analysis, 
  • formulate and present own ideas, 
  • demonstrate understanding of the operational mechanisms and development of art institutions and practical skill in communicating with them, 
  • demonstrate communication skills in the local and international environment,
  • demonstrate highly developed professional, ethical, social and environmental responsibility.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress to the second year, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 56 credits.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

To complete their studies, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and the syllabuses of the individual subjects prescribed in the chosen stream, for a total of 120 credits. Students must write and defend a master's thesis (30 credits). Studies are completed with the successful public defence of a master's thesis that has been awarded a passing grade.
