Learning outcomes:

The qualification holder will be able to:
(general competences)

  • analyse, synthesise and formulate solutions to complex problems from the fields of international economics and the economics of the EU (the functioning of integrations and the development of open economies),
  • use research methods and procedures and develop critical assessment of processes in international markets, with an emphasis on the development of integrations and the growth of open economies,
  • use modern concepts from the field of international economics and regional and integral aspects of market growth,
  • carry out group-based and process-based work in multidisciplinary groups in institutions/public administration/international corporations,
  • demonstrate autonomous understanding of the challenges of the international economy, in particular from the point of view of the growth and development of open economies,
  • demonstrate understanding of the differences of markets and participants in international markets, and of the directional and development policies of international organisations and institutions,
  • demonstrate sensitivity for ethical reflection and their own development in the professional field,
  • pursue autonomous learning, integrate knowledge, adapt to new conditions (flexibility), creatively seek solutions to the developmental and other problems of institutions/businesses and their organisation and management,

  • demonstrate knowledge of the development and foundations of their own wider discipline (broad perspective),
  • address specific problems in the field of international economics using modern methods of research and analysis,
  • demonstrate specific mastery of complex knowledge from the field of international economics and business in the EU,

  • use analytical methods while constantly applying professional and moral/ethical critical assessment of solutions,
  • demonstrate a broad perspective within the field and use modern information and communication technologies and systems in the field of international economics.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all course units prescribed by the study programme for progression to the next year.
