Enrolment in the third-cycle System Logistics programme is open to candidates who have completed:

  • a second-cycle study programme or
  • an academic higher education programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004, or
  • a professional higher education programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 and a study programme to obtain a specialised qualification. Course units essential for further study are determined for such candidates before enrolment in the programme. These may be completed during supplementary study programmes or by passing differential examinations during the programme, i.e. before the doctoral dissertation defence. Candidates must complete the course units determined for them by the academic affairs committee of the Senate of the Faculty of Logistics; or
  • a study programme leading to professions regulated by EU directives, or another integrated master's degree programme consisting of 300 credits.

Enrolment in the second year of the third-cycle System Logistics programme is open to candidates who have completed:

  • a study programme leading to a pre-Bologna research master's degree adopted before 11 June 2004, and for whom 60 credits are recognised on enrolment; or
  • an academic higher education programme adopted before 11 June 2004 and a study programme leading to a specialisation; 60 credits will be recognised for these candidates on enrolment.

Learning outcomes:

Qualification holders are qualified to:

  • demonstrate in-depth understanding of theoretical and methodological concepts,
  • analyse, synthesise and anticipate solutions and consequences in logistics systems, processes and functions,
  • apply research methods, procedures and processes in logistics systems, processes and functions,
  • show autonomy in research and continuously develop critical and self-critical assessment when making decisions in the dynamics of logistics systems and processes,
  • independently apply acquired theoretical knowledge to solve problems in practice, both in logistics organisations and in other organisations with a strong logistics function,
  • develop communication skills and expertise, in particular constant communication in the international environment,
  • work in global logistics chains,
  • demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a deep commitment to professional ethics,
  • show cooperativeness and work in a group,
  • work and create in an international environment,
  • act as mentor to younger colleagues at institutes, universities, companies, etc.,
  • demonstrate effectiveness in the use of the available resources: own creative and intellectual abilities; available intellectual capital (colleagues), other tangible and intangible resources (money, equipment, space and time).

Assesment and completion:

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to progress from the first year to the second year, students must complete 48 credits, which must include an examination in the subject Logistical Systems Management and individual research I (30 credits).

In order to progress from the second year to the third year, students must have completed 60 credits from course units of the current year. Students must also complete all first-year course units in order to progress to the third year.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students complete their studies when they have successfully met all prescribed requirements of a study programme.
