Admission requirements Entry conditions:
  • A second-cycle study programme or
  • an academic (university) programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004, or
  • a professional higher education programme adopted prior to 11 June 2004 and a study programme to obtain a specialised qualification. Prior to enrolment in the study programme, such candidates must meet study requirements of 60 credits (candidates must pass the following examinations in subjects under the second-cycle programme Agriculture: Production systems and environmental protection aspects in the production of major field crops, Production systems and environmental aspects in horticulture, Integrated grape production, Integrated fruit production, Grassland and fodder production, Production systems and technology in animal husbandry) or
  • a study programme that leads to vocations governed by EU directives, or another non-structured master’s degree programme assessed at 300 credits.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

 

Progress:

Students must complete requirements from the first year totalling at least 45 credits to progress to the second year, they must have an approved topic for their doctoral thesis and have a positively assessed report on the candidate’s independent research work in the first year from the Scientific Research Committee at the faculty. Students must complete all the requirements from the first year to progress to the third year, and have a positively assessed report on the candidate’s independent research work in the second year from the Scientific Research Committee at the faculty.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Candidates must meet all requirements prescribed by the study programme in the amount of at least 180 credits as follows: 60 credits from classroom instruction requirements, and 120 credits that include research work, preparation and successful defence of the doctoral thesis.
