Learning outcomes:

The qualification holder will be able to:

  • apply theoretical knowledge in the development, maintenance and restoration of movement and functional abilities in healthy individuals or groups of people of all ages, and in people and/or groups with compromised, limited, affected or impaired movement and functional ability as a result of illness or injury,
  • develop critical and self-critical judgement for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the physiotherapeutic process,
  • integrate evidence-based theories and build them into everyday practice,
  • demonstrate autonomy in professional work and decision-making and a well-developed professional approach to problem-solving,
  • analyse professional problems and synthesise appropriate solutions; participate in an interdisciplinary team,
  • demonstrate understanding of basic research methods and procedures in the field of physiotherapy for participation in research in own field,
  • communicate orally and in writing with co-workers and professionals from related disciplines (including in the international environment), enabling active participation in group work,
  • undertake independent study in own professional field, demonstrate responsibility for own learning and awareness of the importance of lifelong learning,
  • demonstrate ethical reflection and commitment to professional ethics in physiotherapy, and respect for differences of cultures and customs.

 

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

Students progress to the second year if they have accumulated at least 40 ECTS credits by completing first-year examinations, but these examinations must include: Anatomy with histology, Physics, Physiotherapy skills I, Functional anatomy, Healthcare. Students progress to the third year if they have completed all first-year examinations and have accumulated at least 40 ECTS credits by completing second-year examinations. Examinations in the following second-year subjects are compulsory: Physiology with pathophysiology, Physiotherapy II, Special topics in physiotherapy I, Physiotherapy skills II.
