Learning outcomes:

The holder of the certificate is qualified to:

  • diagnose tyres and rims by using modern tools and instruments;
  • maintain and repair tyres and rims to enable safe driving;  advise clients about the purchase and maintenance of tyres and rims, and about vehicle repair and maintenance works;
  • perform a standard vehicle diagnosis by using modern tools and instruments;
  • maintain, repair and install vehicle mechanical systems, appliances and units;
  • maintain, repair and install vehicle electrical and electronic systems, appliances and fittings;
  • maintain, repair and install vehicle pneumatic and hydraulic systems, appliances and units;
  • employ measurement and control devices, tools and machines used in servicing and vehicle repair;
  • use technical and technology documentation, technical regulations and standards as well as technical plans and manufacturer’s instructions;
  • cooperate in a group, communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, experts and customers by employing basic professional terminology; 
  • have a positive attitude towards measures aimed at pollution reduction and environment protection;
  • assess rational energy use, energy source utilization and waste management;  conduct and provide measures aimed at health and safety at work, environment protection, fire safety and accident prevention;
  • use modern IT, work with resources, data and materials;
  • act entrepreneurially, manage costs and calculations as well as act responsibly and socially in the work environment. 

Optional:

  • use special-purpose instruments and instruments for measurements and error detection in the servicing of motor vehicles;
  • determine functions and operation of elements and sets by way of switch wiring plans and circuit diagrams;
  • carry out controls, setting and replacement of individual parts, systems and sets of motor vehicles.
  • control, set and service security and comfort vehicle systems;
  • install additional equipment and tools as well as attach different bodywork instruments.
  • control operation, settings and servicing of mobile systems in commercial vehicles;
  • use special-purpose instruments and instruments for measurements and error detection in the servicing of commercial vehicles;
  • plan and conduct repair or replacement of commercial vehicle sets and test operation. 

In addition, the holder of the certificate also upgraded his/her key professional skills and competences with key general knowledge and skills in line with national standards. 

Assesment and completion:

Students' vocational abilities and skills, and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using scores from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

Progress:

A student/apprentice who, at the end of the school year, is positively evaluated in all general education subjects and professional modules of the year of the school's implementation curriculum, and who has completed all the obligations of other forms of educational work (active citizenship and extracurricular activities) and practical training through work placement at the employer.
For students with individual learning contracts, passing an intermediate exam is a condition for progression from the second to the third year.

Secondary technical and vocational education; master craftsman's examination, foreman's examination and managerial examination (SQF level 5).

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the education and obtain the qualification, the student/apprentice must successfully pass with positive grades:

  • general education subjects,
  • mandatory professional modules,
  • one of the optional professional modules,
  • open part of the open curriculum.

In addition, he/she must complete:

  • other forms of extracurricular activities (active citizenship and interest activities),
  • obligations in practical training  through work placement,
  • final exam.

The final exam includes:

  • written and oral examination of Slovenian language,
  • presenting and defending a service.
