Admission requirements Entry conditions:
  • An elementary school qualification and five years' work experience as a camera assistant; or
  • at least a secondary vocational qualification and five years' work experience as a camera assistant and
  • a technical assignment containing:
    • the candidate's own AV record of an event (news item) saved on a CD or DVD in a digital format in electronic form, 
    • explanation of the choice of equipment (cameras, lights and sound equipment), 
    • the rules of safety and health in the candidate's work and 
    • the candidate's contribution to the visualisation of the project in PDF format, saved on a CD in electronic form.

Learning outcomes:
Candidates will be able to:
  • plan, prepare and control own work, 
  • communicate with a film crew, 
  • keep abreast of development trends and technologies and materials, 
  • make rational use of energy, material and time, 
  • protect health and the environment, 
  • use recording techniques and equipment, 
  • carry out test recordings of images and sound, 
  • sharpen an image and insert an image and sound carrier, 
  • film as second/assistant camera operator, 
  • record simple AV items.

Evaluator:

Verification and assessment are carried out by committees for the verification and validation of national vocational qualifications, appointed by the National Examination Centre (NEC). Committee members must be licensed by the National Examination Centre. Licences may be found here.

Assesment and completion:
VALIDATION
During the counselling process, the candidate prepares a portfolio. The relevant committee assesses the portfolio and validates catalogue content in part or full. If the committee is unable to recognise all catalogue content, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification. 
VERIFICATION METHOD
Technical assignment with oral presentation.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Candidates demonstrate attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

Awarding body:

Providers of procedures for identifying and validating national vocational qualifications are entered in a register of providers maintained in the relevant database of the National Reference Point for Occupational Qualifications. Providers include: vocational schools, companies, inter-company training centres, adult education centres, chambers of commerce, etc.
