  • a completed study programme referred to in Article 36(4) of the Higher Education Act, if it comprises 300 credits, or
  • a completed second-cycle academic higher education programme adopted before 11 June 2004, or
  • a completed professional higher education study programme adopted before 11 June 2004 and a study programme leading to a specialist qualification (specialisation). Before enrolment in the study programme, study requirements totalling 60 ECTS credits are defined for such candidates.

Learning outcomes:

The qualification holder is be able to:

  • manage processes in gerontology,
  • exercise constructive critical judgement and apply creative solutions at the level of approaches and models and the relational level,
  • manage internal organisational units,
  • manage quality projects in gerontological services,
  • initiate new forms and models of care for the elderly,
  • provide advice for quality in services and demonstrate the competences necessary for a faculty assistant,
  • managing leading staff and management staff and is a researcher or department head at a research institute or higher education institution.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

Students may enrol in a higher year if by the end of the academic year they have met all requirements defined by the study programme for enrolment in a higher year.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students must meet all prescribed requirements of a study programme and accumulate at least 180 ECTS credits.
