Learning outcomes:
  • The qualification holders are able to undertake research and scientific work in the theoretical fields which are the basis for industrial design, visual communications design and one-off design or applied arts, special methodologies, history and development of design and design theories.
  • They are also able to carry out applied research important for the development of new design concepts for industrial and artistic products and solutions and justify, in a scientific way, the content and message of design-based creativity and production, where the results are integrated in a creative and reciprocal manner into the design-based multidisciplinary findings of broader culturological, sociological, ethnological, aesthetic, psychological and direct technological, ergonomic, environmental and marketing research achievements.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Candidates may enrol in the second year when they have completed course units totalling at least 45 credits.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students complete their studies when they have completed all course units and written and successfully defended a master's thesis. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
