Learning outcomes:

The qualification holders are able to undertake autonomous research, counselling and/or teaching work at research institutes, higher education institutions and other institutions where such staff are needed. Graduates will have built on and broadened their technical and theoretical knowledge and have a detailed grasp of the theory and methodology of research in their selected field. They will also be capable of addressing concrete scholarly problems.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress to the second year, candidates must have completed at least 45 credits from the prescribed individual syllabus.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, as well as passing examinations in individual subjects students must successfully defend in public a master's thesis that has been awarded a passing grade. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
