The collegium of the Department of Archaeology may, by a special decision, recognise previous work as a condition for enrolment for candidates who have completed a work placement and have an average grade of at least 7.2. 
The same conditions apply to candidates who have completed other university programmes, where the department, taking into account the topic of the master's programme, defines the contents which candidates are required to master in the first semester of the programme (up to 2 differential examinations).

Learning outcomes:

The qualification holders are able to address scholarly problems in that they will have gained a detailed familiarity with the theory and methodology of research in archaeology and be able to apply them autonomously.

Assesment and completion:
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress to the next year, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the study programme or completed at least 45 credits.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, students must successfully complete all course units prescribed by the study programme (examinations, seminar papers, fieldwork, lab classes) and successfully defend a master's thesis in public. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
