  • having completed a first level study programme in other fields of expertise, such as: therapy and rehabilitation (726), preschool education (143), first-cycle teaching education (1441), if the candidates have completed all the study requirements in the amount of 36 ECTS prior to enrolling in the study programme, which can be done during first level studies, as part of advanced training programmes, or by taking differential examinations before enrolling in the study programme, or
  • having completed higher education study programme, adopted prior to 11 June 2004 in relevant fields of expertise: Sport (813), Sport Education (1462), or

The qualification holder are capable of:

(General competences)

  • coaching with in-depth professional knowledge of the chosen sport, well-supported by the knowledge of educational and psychological knowledge in terms of pedagogy of sports, developmental and pedagogical psychology, sociology of sport, sports didactics, sports medicine, biomechanics of sports and other related interdisciplinary disciplines that contribute to a quality transformational process of sports training,
  • independent creative scientific research and development work in the field of sports training directed at the selected sports industry,
  • coherent management of basic knowledge from the chosen sports industry, the management of scientific approach, the search for new development strategies and findings, their substantiation, interpretation and integration into the process of sports training with the objective of improving the success of sports training,
  • working in a group, team, to do research work at the national and international level in sport or sporting discipline,
  • evaluating their research work critically, predict results, search for appropriate solutions and consequent measures in practice,
  • following the latest achievements in sport, integrating them into practice, understanding and interpreting the results of research work in the specific field of expertise, and applying theoretical and applied research methods, various processes and modern technologies,
  • using and understanding modern information technology concepts and successfully using general quantitative and qualitative methodologies in professional and research work,
  • successfully communicating and interpreting scientific findings in sports training, taking into account the appropriate level of ethical reflection and their own commitment to professional ethics,
  • performing professional and scientifically demanding organisational and implementation tasks of the profession (management, project programmes),
  • following modern information of the specific and general professional field of sport,
  • implementing procedures in connection with the promotion and operation of individual entities in the organisation of sports activities, preparing and implementing promotional media events while interacting with the working environment

(programme-specific competences)

  • in-depth knowledge and understanding of (practical, reflexive, theoretical) the professional area, interactional professional and scientific connections in terms of planning, organisation, implementation and verification of the training process, both in professional and scientific frameworks of the planned process of sports training and related achievements of the optimal transformation achievements of the participants, i.e. athletes,
  • understanding the contents of the modern concept of sports training theory, connected with disciplines of the integrity of the athlete and create the system of the planned training process with the maximum possible transformational effects of an individual or team,
  • understanding the application of a methodical procedure in designing and implementing research work in the chosen field of expertise (collection, statistical processing and interpretation of data),
  • synthesising and detecting important scientific questions and as a result creating work programmes to address and find appropriate solutions in modern training of athletes
  • communicating with athletes, parents, clubs and environment, especially while working with young athletes,
  • finding answers to scientific questions also abroad and to communicate and cooperate appropriately with foreign, recognised and established experts,
  • working in a team and being prepared for life-long education and improvement in the specific and general area of theory and practice of sport training,
  • using theoretical and practical research methods, procedures and technologies of registration of various locomotor structures and other methods of data processing and data collection,
  • understanding natural and medical knowledge present in managing transformational processes for athletes, especially caring in implementing strategies for the preservation and protection of health, in particular for younger athletes.

Assesment and completion:

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Progress:

In order to advance from the first to the second year, students must obtain 42 ECTS.

Students complete the study programme after completing all the requirements of the study programme and defending their Master thesis, thus collecting 120 ECTS.
