Learning outcomes:

Certificate-holders will be able to:

  • analyse the condition and quality of hair, the scalp, nails, the skin of the hands and face, and the form of the head and face,
  • provide care of the hair, scalp, nails, wigs/hairpieces/hair extensions, etc., the skin of the hands,
  • prepare facial skin for make-up, apply make-up and paint the face and body,
  • change the shape and colour of nails (manicure),
  • cut hair and shave customers,
  • change the shape and colour of hair and style hair,
  • make, shape and fit wigs/hairpieces/hair extensions,
  • shape beards, moustaches and sideburns,
  • ensure hygiene, provide professional advice and businesslike communication,
  • write and speak their mother tongue and at least one foreign language in professional contexts with grammatical correctness,
  • demonstrate a moral, ethical and humane attitude towards people, in accordance with human rights and the rules of ethics,
  • protect and strengthen their own health and the health of others and prepare a safe working environment,
  • protect and preserve the environment.

Elective:

  • make a transformation or wig, men's hairpiece or toupee and maintain orthopaedic hairdressing products,
  • design hairstyles using new technological and technical developments according to the latest fashion trends, for fashion shows, fashion photographs and hairstyle design competitions,
  • undertake lighting, set, make-up and costume design for AV productions,
  • undertake video and sound design for AV productions,
  • realise their own projects for a simple AV production.

Certificate holders build on their key vocational knowledge and abilities with key general knowledge in line with national standards.

Assesment and completion:

Students' vocational abilities and skills, and the fulfilment of conditions to obtain credits in accordance with the relevant education programme are established through verification and assessment. Assessment of students also takes into account non-formally acquired knowledge, which must be adequately demonstrated. Students are assessed using scores from 5 (excellent) to 1 (inadequate).

Progress:

Students may progress to the next year if at the end of the academic year they achieve passing grades in all general education subjects and relevant vocational modules set out in the school’s operational curriculum, and have completed all extracurricular activities and practical on-the-job training, or progress on the basis of a programme faculty decision.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

Students must successfully complete all general education subjects, compulsory vocational modules and the open part of the curriculum. They must also complete extracurricular activities and work placement requirements and pass a school-leaving examination. The school-leaving examination comprises a written and oral examination in Slovene, a product and an oral presentation.
