Subject-specific competences:

  • knowledge of the basic legal institutes of civil law in the perspective of their historical development;
  • the ability to deal with practical cases, to extract legally relevant circumstances from the facts and to identify a legal problem;
  • mastering the basic legal term in the field of general part of civil law, property and obligation law and inheritance law;
  • acquaintance with the fundamental similarities and differences between the various European civil law regimes;
  • understanding the basic concepts of constitutional law;
  • knowledge of basic constitutional institutes and institutions;
  • knowledge of the organization and operation of state authorities (parliament, president of the republic, government and judiciary);
  • knowledge and application of human rights protection mechanisms;
  • understanding the law, the state, legal thinking and dealing with the ethical dilemmas that accompany legal decision-making;
  • knowledge of the nature of law and especially the fundamental forces that influence the formation and development of law;
  • acquaintance with the social origins and social effects of legal norms;
  • getting to know the actual aspects of the functioning of legal institutions;
  • training to understand the social conditionality of legal norms and legal values ​​in their formation and transformation into actual legal relations;

  • acquiring the skills of preparing and compiling documents on legal transactions, their assessment and evaluation in general, and especially in the fields of property and inheritance law;

  • acquiring knowledge of the theoretical basis for exercising the right to judicial protection in civil disputes, as well as skills for drawing up documents or applications and decisions in these disputes;
  • acquisition of basic theoretical and practical knowledge in various fields entered by economic legal entities in mutual relations and relations with end users;
  • acquiring the skills of preparing and compiling documents on legal transactions in the field of commercial law, basic negotiation skills and analysis of case law;

  • acquiring basic theoretical and practical knowledge of the law governing human interventions in the environment and acquiring the skills of recognizing and solving practical problems that occur in legal relations relating to human interventions in the environment;
  • acquiring basic knowledge in the field of international law, which regulates relations and relations between its subjects;
  • acquiring basic theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of legal regulation of taxes, both in terms of their determination by law, as well as the specifics of the procedure in the field of taxation.

Assesment and completion:

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Progress:

To progress from the first to the second year, students must complete  study obligations in the amount of at least 52 ECTS.

To progress from the second to the third year, students must complete study obligations in the amount of 60 ECTS of the first year and at least 54 ECTS of the second year.

To progress from the third to the fourth year, students must complete study obligations in the amount of 60 ECTS of the second year and at least 54 ECTS of the third year.

Students who pass all examinations in compulsory and elective subjects in the total number of 240 ECTS or acquire a part of ECTS within other recognized forms complete the first-cycle university study programme Law.
