Learning outcomes:

The qualification holder will be able to:

  • undertake autonomous analytical work,
  • analyse social phenomena,
  • advise on various trends in social events, development and management,
  • synthesise knowledge in a specific field and apply it in the resolution of a specific problem,

  • undertake, coordinate and organise research,

  • demonstrate broad, critical and reflective understanding of military organisation and civil defence, structures and functioning, (legal) norms and institutions and the dynamics of development of international and national security,

  • demonstrate knowledge of foreign languages and use technical defence studies terminology in Slovene and English,
  • show creativity and initiative in selecting and analysing the key security problems of modern society,
  • lead and show leadership (in particular in the context of the military module where competences are developed for: coordination, organisation, work with colleagues, advising and managing).

Assesment and completion:

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Progress:

In order to progress to the next year, students must have completed all course units from the current year, for a total of 60 credits.
