  • analyse phenomena and processes in natural and social geography as a basis for understanding the principles of sustainable development at the regional, national and global levels and for responsible environmental management.

Assesment and completion:

Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services, etc. and by examinations. Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10). 

Progress:

In order to progress to the second year, students must complete at least 21 credits from the academic two-subject programme Geography in the first year and a specific number of credits envisaged by the other part of the two-subject study programme. In order to progress to the third year, students must have completed all first-year course units (60 credits) and at least 21 credits from the academic two-subject programme Geography in the second year and a specific number of credits envisaged by the other part of the two-subject study programme.

Conditions for obtaining a public document:

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme, for a total of at least 180 credits (90 credits in each part of the academic two-subject study programme).
