  • A completed undergraduate academic higher education programme in one of the following subjects: textile technology, chemistry, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, industrial engineering (mechanical engineering stream) with a final grade of at least 8 (very good); or candidates who have taken part in research, as demonstrated by published papers and reports, and have at least two years' work experience,
  • proficiency in at least one foreign language.

Qualification holders demonstrate in-depth mastery of research methods in the field of textile science. They will be persons of broad culture possessing a sufficiently profound theoretical grounding and a capacity for invention and innovation in the field of textile science.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

Students may progress to the next year if by the end of the academic year they have completed all requirements defined by the study programme for progression to the next year.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF, level 10) 

In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
