The qualification holder will be able to:

  • demonstrate mastery of statistical thinking,
  • autonomously perform statistical analyses and provide statistical advice,
  • cooperate with experts in the field of research,

  • define problems,
  • predict results and seek optimal solutions,
  • critically evaluate information and find sources,
  • directly transfer knowledge into practice and understand the difficulties that can arise in this process;
  • communicate in an international environment,

(subject-specific competences)

  • autonomously perform all stages of high-quality statistical analysis in a selected field, from planning research to working with data, selection of suitable methodology and interpretation,
  • expand their knowledge with new or alternative approaches and draw ideas from related problems,
  • use complex IT (programming) tools to arrange and analyse data and present results.

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to progress from the first to the second year, students must have completed at least 45 credits in compulsory first-year subjects.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

In order to complete the programme, candidates must successfully complete all course units defined by the programme and successfully defend a master's thesis, for a total of 120 credits.
