The qualification holder will be able to:

- demonstrate understanding of the formulation of adequate systemic and political measures to direct economic activity in the field of healthcare and social care,
- demonstrate broad understanding of the processes in progress in this field around the world,
- analyse, acquire and understand the data necessary for analysis of this kind,
- demonstrate familiarity with the fundamental social and political principles that apply to healthcare and social care around the world,
- demonstrate familiarity with the quantitative methods necessary for economic analyses in this field.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
In order to progress to the second year, students must complete all study obligations at exams he / she has enrolled in the first year. Committee responsible for the study programme (Student Affairs Committee) of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana may exceptionally lower the promotion criteria and / or allow promotion of a student who has not fulfilled the above criteria but who has justified objective reasons for this (Article 153 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana).
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
In order to complete the study programme, the student must complete the study obligations in all subjects of the enrolled study programmme and successfully defend the master's thesis, in accordance with the provisions of the Rules on the master's thesis, adopted by the Senate of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.
