Admission requirements

V študijski program druge stopnje Okolje se lahko vpišejo kandidati, ki izpolnjujejo naslednje kriterije:

  • kandidati, ki so zaključili študijski program prve stopnje s področja naravoslovnih ved, tehniških ved ali biotehnologije v obsegu najmanj 180 ECTS kreditnih točk, se lahko vpišejo brez dodatnih pogojev
  • kandidati, ki so zaključili študijski program, ki ne ustreza kriterijem iz prve alineje, naslovijo na študijsko komisijo prošnjo za vpis. Glede na usmeritev predhodnega študija, določi študijska komisija kandidatu dodatne študijske obveznosti v obsegu do največ 60 ECTS, ki jih morajo kandidati opraviti pred vpisom v prvi letnik študijskega programa Okolje II. stopnje.
  • Izobraževanje v tujini, enakovredno prej navedenim programom omogoča vpis pod enakimi pogoji

The qualification holder will be able to:

General competences:

  • ability of analytical thinking, which enables inclusion in interdisciplinary groups for studying and solving problems of environmental protection
  • solving professional problems by independently searching for sources of knowledge and using research methods in the field of environmental study and protection,
  • ability to critically evaluate results and reports,
  • independence and responsibility at work and in making professional decisions,
  • ability to engage in project and interdisciplinary group work,
  • planning of group and project work,
  • ability to apply the acquired knowledge in practice,
  • ability to communicate and present environmental reports and data to the domestic and foreign public

Subject-specific competences:

  • determining the state and quality of the environment,
  • environmental impact assessment and associated risk,
  • research of phenomena in the environment
  • preparation and implementation of monitoring programs
  • planning strategies to reduce environmental impacts
  • preparation and implementation of waste management strategies.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

To progress to the second year, the student must have passed the exams in compulsory subjects and the total examination obligations of the examination obligations in the amount of at least 45 credit points. The student must pass the missing exams from the previous year no later than one year after progressing to the higher year.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

All exams, seminars prescribed by the programme, independent projects and successful defense of the thesis are a condition for the completion of studies.
