Another condition is a successfully passed test of competences consisting of an admission interview with a presentation of the candidate's work (portfolio) in the field of industrial and one-off design or subdisciplines thereof (industrial design, glass and ceramics design).

The qualification holder will be able to:
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
- demonstrate in-depth knowledge and proficiency and supervise design planning,
- apply methodology to the widest variety of design projects,
- explain, defend and present projects,
- show sensitivity towards contemporary social movements and problems,
- collaborate in a multidisciplinary manner and transfer knowledge from studies and experience to the planning process,
- demonstrate initiative and independence in decision-making and carry out work consonant with experience acquired during the creative research process,

GLASS AND CERAMIC DESIGN
- demonstrate in-depth knowledge and proficiency and supervise material and the processes of design in the materials,
- demonstrate initiative and independence in decision-making and carry out work consonant with experience acquired during the creative research process,
- self-educate in own specialist field,
- develop personal expression and design planning,
- apply methodology to the widest variety of design and artistic projects,
- present own design and artistic projects and present arguments for them,
- show sensitivity towards contemporary social movements and problems,
- collaborate in a multidisciplinary manner and transfer knowledge from studies and experience to the planning and creative process,
- integrate knowledge from other fields,
- undertake independent creative and research-based activities in the field of one-off design and develop artistic awareness and sensitivity,
- transfer the artistic into the production process,
- develop new creative concepts within the discipline,
- demonstrate understanding of the interdependence of various disciplines, technology and design,

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
In order to progress from the first year to the second year of the master's programme, students must have completed all course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 56 credits.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
To complete their studies, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and the syllabuses of the individual subjects prescribed in the chosen stream. Studies are completed with the successful public defence of a master's thesis that has been awarded a passing grade.
