The qualification holder will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of academic fields (broad general perspective),
- critically read and understand texts,
- demonstrate familiarity with and use scholarly apparatus,
- autonomously acquire and use sources, knowledge and information,
- demonstrate knowledge of information technology (information literacy),
- use information tools for communication, distance collaboration, e-learning,
- undertake independent research and publish research results in specialist, non-specialist and journalistic contexts,
- participate in application procedures for various projects (research, technical, applied, development, etc.),
- organise and plan work,
- demonstrate openness to alternative views and solutions,
- demonstrate focus on realistically feasible solutions,

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
In order to progress from the first to the second year, students must have completed in full the course units prescribed by the curriculum and individual syllabuses for the first year, for a total of 60 credits. A tolerance of up to 10% (6 credits) will be permitted in exceptional circumstances.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units prescribed by the study programme and the syllabuses of individual subjects, for a total of 120 credits. Students are awarded their master's degree on successfully defending a written master's thesis before a panel consisting of a supervisor and two members.
