The qualification holder will be able to:
- think analytically,
- demonstrate mastery of research methods, procedures and processes in social science research into internet-based social phenomena and develop critical and self-critical assessment in the interpretation of the results of social science research,
- apply knowledge from the fields of social sciences, informatics and methodology in practical work,
- perform professional work autonomously,
- develop communication abilities and skills in the planning of projects, the publication of their results and their conversion into decisions,
- demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a commitment to professional ethics in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data originating in contemporary society,
- work cooperatively in a group in the local or international environment to plan, manage and implement projects.
Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
The programme has a one-year duration so there is no progression to subsequent years.
Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)
In order to complete the programme, students must complete all course units in all subjects in which they have enrolled and successfully defend a master's thesis via a public presentation.
